Jeera futures edged up on NCDEX on expectation of rising exports demand at the spot market. Though, some gains were capped on heavy arrivals from the producing regions. Reports showed that 21,513 tons of jeera arrived during March 1-15 compared to 6,120 tons during last month same period.
The contract for March delivery was trading at Rs 17050, up by 1.88% or Rs 315.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16735. The open interest of the contract stood at 198 lots.
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 17250, up by 2.28% or Rs 385.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16865. The open interest of the contract stood at 8991 lots on NCDEX.
